The Board of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) approved amendments to the Rules for Registering Auditors of Entities Subject to the Authority’s Supervision, effective from their publication date. The amendments require registered accounting firms to have an adequate number of audit managers holding the SOCPA fellowship or equivalent accepted credentials, maintain an appropriate quality management system, and adhere to professional standards. The amendments also obligate firms to cooperate during CMA inspections, prepare corrective action plans if required by inspection results, share final inspection results with audit committees of listed companies, and expand transparency report disclosures.
